Oil Pastels (Crayola and Portfolio Series) on Chalkboard - Slate or Green

Saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and wipe over the stained area.  If stain persists, dampen a paper towel with warm water and apply liquid dish soap to wash the area.  Dry the board.  Repeat as needed.

  • Cleaning Materials
    Dull Knife or Metal Spoon
    Paper Towels

    Gently scrape with a dull knife and lot with a paper towel, removing as much oil pastel as possible.  Be careful not to cause additional damage to the fabric.  Consult a professional dry cleaner.

    ONLY Black, Blue, Golden Brown, Gray, Medium Brown, Red, Slate Gray, True Blue and White can be removed with 409 cleaner. ALL OTHER colors cannot be removed with any other cleaning agent.

    Water

    Wash with water. On unfinished marble, pastels will leave a residual stain.

    Carpet Cleaner Spot Shot or Oxiclean Based Cleaning Product Preferred
    Amodex Ink Stain Remover Optional

    Scrape off as much crayon as possible.  Use carpet cleaner per the manufacturer's direction.  Repeat as needed.

  • Cleaning Materials
    Paper Towels
    Sponge
    Liquid Dish Soap Preferred Dawn or Joy
    All Purpose Cleaner Windex or Formula 409
    Mr Clean Magic Eraser

    Spray the stained area with All Purpose cleaner and wipe with paper towels.  If stain persists, dampen a sponge with warm water and liquid dish soap to work the area in a circular motion.  Rinse with water.  Repeat as needed.

    ALTERNATIVE SUGGESTION:  Mr. Clean Magic Eraser can be used per the manufacturer's direction.
